Voice Acting Tutorial links

Post  runestyr on Wed Nov 30, 2011 6:12 am

Voice acting is easy and fun, and you can get started with minimal equipment. The more unique voices we can get, the better our mods. Remember how ES4 had the same 5 voices for most characters? We don't want that.

Some years ago, I wrote a basic voice acting tutorial for the Thief community, which is still good for getting started:

If you have questions about it, ask them here.

More recently, I started a discussion with general voice acting advice in the VegaStrike community:

There is some discussion of Skyrim's sound formats here:
http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/456412-xwm-audio-format/page__st__10
but what you mostly need to know, at this point, is to make your recordings with these settings:

Audio(0): wmav2
Bitrate: 48 kbps
Sample Rate: 44100
Channel: Stereo (2)

I understand music being stereo, but don't know why voice acting would be in stereo -- I only have one mouth.
